LAWS OF A MICRONATION
Each ark is a micronation (registered with the United Nations as if it were an international NGO). Each ark is responsible for creating and sustaining its own internal regulations that are in alignment with the Ark Code of Conduct. The idea is to have a minimum of rules and to enforce them fiercely, thus creating a context where individuals can develop their unique potential.
SAMPLE SET OF ARK LAWS
- This micronation culture is sovereign in itself
- People are unique (no franchises)
- Organizations are not legal persons (every partner is responsible and liable)
- No slavery (no one works for someone else)
- Minimum and maximum wage are the same: 10 per hour
- Natural resources cannot be owned
- Responsibility before privilege (you can only have what you personally take responsibility to care for)
- Only sustainability (persons are responsible for the objects they make through the object’s complete lifecycle)
- No guns
- Money is not a thing, it has no value except as a medium of exchange
- Profit (hiding costs) is fraud
- Economy: Only individuals can have bank accounts. The micronation deletes each bank account to zero at the end of each year, and deposits an equal sum large enough to provide basic needs into each person’s account at the beginning of each year. A child’s account is provided with enough money each year to balance the birthrate to the deathrate.
